Worst purchase ever! Impossible to get anyone to call you back when there's problems!
My wife and I purchased a 2012 Dodge Journey from a friendly (but dishonest) sales man here in October 2011. Basically, he promised items on the vehicle (and even handed me paperwork on how to use the items) that were no where to be found when I got the vehicle home. One item (a Sirius Radio "module") that upset me the most caused me to write letters to executives (and other people I found online at the dealer) and see who would respond. A few days later a "manager" named Chris Muller called me back and expressed his deepest appologies to me and said that they (dealer) would take care of installing this Sirius radio module (but there's a catch...) in two months when the item became available and that he would call when it was ready. I agreed and painfully waited the two months with not a single retured phone call. Finally, three months later, I called Mr. Muller FOUR times and left voice mail messages still without a single returned call. Frustrated, I called someone else, anyone, and (again) left a voice mail. My call was returned a few days later by a nice man who said he was now looking into the matter. Two days later the man tells me "this model vehicle does not support the Sirius radio, I'm sorry." Now EXTREMELY frustrated (and wondering why in the world I bought this vehicle, from this dealer to begin with) I agreed to let the man research "other options" and call me back on Monday. It's now been two weeks since I've heard from anyone. Case STILL not closed. Issue #2 - In December (2 months after owning the vehicle), the car sputterd, stalled, and left me stranded after an afternoon at Disneyland with two small children (inside the vehicle on a busy So. Ca. freeway). Puzzled at this (its a BRAND NEW car!) I quickly delivered the vehicle to Browning Dodge in Norco. After giving them my name and information, the service person also had a puzzled look on his face and said "hmm, you haven't purchased any sort of extended warranty, that's weird" (all the while I'm thinking YES, I did!, its in my sales contract and I spent over $1500 on it), but he said they'd have someone look at the vehicle anyway. The conclusion was that the PCM (powertrain control module) had already gone bad and needed to be replaced (hmm, it's a NEW car!). Three days later, I had the car back and luckily the new car warranty still covered this. After pulling my hair out over how this dealer treated me (happy to see me when I'm giving them money, but after, not so much!) and the quality of the vehicles they sell, I can gladly say that I'll NEVER purchase from Browning in Cerritos ever again and I have advised everyone I know to do the same. I really hope someone from Browning (with the power to get something done) reads this and calls me back with a full and complete resolution.
