I purchased a product from this company in late October 2009. Unfortunately, they will not stand behind their product. It was a gift for my mother who used to buy phone cards to call her relatives long distance. I thought this would be a good gift because she would no longer have to buy them expensive phone cards. I set it up without any issues and she really liked it. Well just under 3 months later, she said it didn't work anymore. So I went to her house to try and figure out why. It seemed like it was overheating. After unplugging it, and letting it cool down it would work again for a little while until it heated up again and then would stop working again. I contacted ooma and their customer service is the worst of any company I've ever had to deal with, and I've dealt with Microsoft before...Ugh! First they said they would replace it and I had to give my CC# in case I didn't return the broken unit to them. Then they put another guy on who is trying to troubleshoot my problem again after sitting on the phone with someone for over an hour who finally agreed with me that it was defective. Well finally after 2 days, I get an email saying they are sending a new unit. It only took me 2 hours on the phone with them to finally make them agree that the unit was defective. I'm not stupid. I figured that out within 5 minutes when I could clearly figure out it was overheating. The unit was HOT to the touch when it was on. Well now 6 months later, the replacement they sent won't even turn on. It's dead. I wanted to see if I could pay to have it repaired and all they told me is that I'm out of their 1 year warranty period and there's nothing they can do for me now. I should have checked their bbb.org rating (big fat F) before purchasing from this company and wasting my hard earned money. Lesson learned the hard way...
