Just as you all did, we too paid Premier Legal Advocates $1276.00 to do a loan modification with ASC Mortgage. I had a heart attack and wasn't allowed to work for 14 months. We fell further and further behind. In January we went into the HUD.GOV website. We clicked on the "Making Home Affordable", then we clicked on the "Eligibility", next we clicked the "Home Affordable Modification-find out if your eligible", we answered the questions they asked and clicked "Submit", the next thing that came up was, "Yes your eligible, call 888-303-0868." We called, it was Premier Legal Advocates. We spoke with a George Porter. We checked them out with the BBB, the CA Scam List on Home Modifications, every where we could possibly check. We found nothing against them. Being we got them through the HUD site, we figured, they must be legit. We even tried the HUD site a second time about 3 weeks later and the same thing came up, but it was a different number. We called and asked them their name and again they said, PLA. We paid them over a period of 4 months. Mean while we were getting all sorts of legal foreclosure letters. They kept telling us not to worry, they had every thing under control. Well, October 1, 2010, our home goes up for Sheriff Sale. We are still waiting to find out whether or not we will get the modification. We are waiting to hear from the Lender. ASC is one of Wells Fargo's Companies. The last entry PLA made in our online acct., was in July. We have tried to call them, busy. We have tried to email, it comes back address no longer exist. Mean while I pray to God we don't loose our home on the 1st. My parents and my siblings all helped to build this house in 1973. In 1999 we bought it off them and let them live here with us. Since, my father passed away, but my 80 year old mother still lives with us. We also have custody of our 7 year old grand daughter that also lives with us. If we loose our home, there will be 4 of us that will need to find a place to live. I don't know how the PLA sleep at night knowing what they have done. If any one has an idea or knows what to do, you can count us in.
